We are gearing up for a long awaited trip to Japan later this month. We are truly excited to relish in this amazing country. One of the most fascinating things about the Japanese culture is how they create and consume entertainment. Everything is at your fingertips but rules are carefully observed and followed to maintain order.

Studying line management, the sheer entertainment value of a cupcake created in a vending machine & the hustle and bustle of one of the most populated areas on earth – will be an adventure to say the least! Who knows what will inspire us?

PB Anyone?

We at The OTB Company certainly don’t like to stay in the box do we? We are extremely excited to announce the acquisition of an 18-foot full concession trailer. Cooking is our second passion, and so is peanut butter. This spring, we will be unveiling “The Peanut Butter Cupboard” – for all your gourmet peanut butter desires…

We hope to see you at one of our city’s great festivals this summer! We are inspired to make things better – including your favorite PB & J sandwich…

January 25th, 2014

Feels great to wrap up a bustling 3-day group of events for the Western Lumber Association. These folks came all the way from Winnipeg – to discover what this great city has to offer.

Hosted at the Hyatt Hotel downtown, we were excited to create a Western Themed mixer, followed by an elegant evening affair the next night. To cap off their celebration, they brought in Paul Brandt at the Telus Convention Centre to rock their socks off all the way back to Winterpeg!

A big thank you for our awesome staff – who sported our new OTB shirts! Check them out in our photos section. We look forward to working with our friends at WRLA to bring to life event experiences in 2016.

Santa’s Comin’ to the Ranch!

December 1st, 2014

When Symons Valley Ranch called us to help them bring Santa to town we reacted as you’d expect. Imagine the words coming out of the mouth of Elf’s Will Ferrell… “SANTA!!!!!”

Many MANY bottles of silver spray paint and branches later, we created the perfect wintery sleigh wonderland for Santa to visit the ranch every weekend until Christmas. Hope you’ve been nice!

Merry Christmas to all!

This is Halloween

Halloween is in full swing at The OTB Co! The overwhelming paint & glue smell in our garage, blood stains on our hands & our dogs - terrified by our acquired animatronics. We are fortunate enough to be producing two events on Halloween evening – once again for Mr. W. Brett Wilson’s Durham Avenue Funeral Home and Cemetery & creating a fever at Symons Valley Ranch.

The OTB Company is now officially a member of The Haunted Attraction Association. This allows us to connect to a worldwide network of haunted attraction owners, operators, consultants and vendors. A great resource indeed.

So which haunt should you attend? BOTH of course!

Summer Camp

It has been an awesome summer at camp. We recently returned from a gig at the Squamish Valley Music Festival, a fantastic music festival experience for both guest and staff. Emily and I went back to our roots and took on a couple of production assistant roles with the festival thanks to an invite from a couple of great peers.

We are back doing more in the realm of concert production, we just can't shake the need to work around live music every now and again. Especially the summer festival circuit, it really is like summer camp, in the entertainment world. It's a couple of weeks with a bunch of great people working towards executing someones vision for a great festival. We meant many new friends and sure loved catching up with old ones, already looking forward to next year.

Thanks to our friends from SVMF for a great experience.

On to the next gig.

We've recently wrapped up a major project due to the amazing team we were so fortunate to be on the event was a great success. The Sunshine Bubble Ball event was a hit! The Sunshine Gala is an annual fundraising event benefiting the Alberta Children's Hospital. This year the event was held on June 18th, at TELUS Spark Science Centre. The OTB Company is honoured to have contributed in theme & experience design, programming, layout modelling.

We want to thank all of the staff, volunteers and service providers who made the event such a great experience.
